❓ FAQ: Why Don’t You Make Trademarked or Copyrighted Items?
Do you create items with characters, logos, or famous brands? No — we don’t recreate or sell any designs that include copyrighted or trademarked material. This includes TV/film characters, sports teams, brand logos, celebrity images, or trademarked phrases.
Why not? To keep A & M Bespoke Creations fully compliant with UK copyright and trademark laws, we avoid using protected designs. This protects original creators, other businesses, and our own small business too.
Can you make something “inspired by” a character or brand? We can create something inspired by a theme, but it must be fully original and not resemble protected artwork too closely. We’re always happy to help you find a creative, copyright‑safe alternative.
What can you make instead? Lots! We specialise in personalised, custom, and completely original designs — names, hobbies, colours, patterns, illustrations, and unique concepts made just for you.
What if I already have an image I want to use? If you provide artwork, it must be something you own the rights to or have permission to use. We’ll always check before printing to make sure everything is safe and legal.
❓ FAQ: How Does Sublimation Work?
What is sublimation printing? Sublimation is a printing method where special inks turn into gas when heated and permanently bond into the surface of a product — like mugs, tumblers, cushions, keyrings, and more. The result is a smooth, vibrant, long‑lasting design that won’t peel or crack.
Does the design sit on top of the product? No. Unlike vinyl or stickers, sublimation becomes part of the material itself. You can’t feel the design — it’s completely smooth to the touch.
Why are sublimated colours so vibrant? Because the ink turns into gas and fuses into the coating, the colours stay bright, crisp, and detailed. It’s perfect for photos, patterns, and full‑colour artwork.
What products can be sublimated? Only items with a polymer coating or a high polyester content. For example:
Sublimation‑coated mugs and tumblers, Polyester cushions and fabrics, Aluminium panels, Keyrings, coasters, bookmarks, and more
If a product isn’t coated for sublimation, the ink won’t bond properly.
Is sublimation dishwasher‑safe? Most sublimation mugs and tumblers are dishwasher‑safe, but handwashing is always recommended to keep colours looking their best for years.
Can you sublimate onto dark items? Sublimation works best on white or light‑coloured surfaces. The inks are transparent, so they need a light base to show their true colours.
Can I request a custom sublimation design? Absolutely. We specialise in personalised, original artwork. You can choose colours, themes, names, patterns — whatever fits your style.
Will the design fade over time? Sublimation is extremely durable. With proper care, the colours stay bright and sharp for a very long time.
❓ FAQ: How Does UVDTF Work?
What is UVDTF? UVDTF (Ultra‑Violet Direct to Film) is a printing method where designs are printed onto a special film, cured with UV light, and then transferred onto your product using pressure. It creates a vibrant, glossy, durable sticker‑like decal — but far stronger than normal vinyl.
Does UVDTF need heat to apply? No. UVDTF is a cold‑apply method. You simply peel, stick, press firmly, and remove the carrier sheet. No heat press, no curing time, no waiting around.
What makes UVDTF so durable? The UV‑cured ink forms a tough, scratch‑resistant layer. Once applied properly, it’s waterproof, long‑lasting, and perfect for everyday items like cups, bottles, jars, and accessories.
What can UVDTF be applied to? Almost any smooth, hard surface, including:
Glass, Stainless steel, Plastic, Acrylic, Ceramic, Coated wood
It’s incredibly versatile, which is why it’s so popular for tumblers, cold cups, jars, and personalised gifts.
Is UVDTF dishwasher‑safe? Most UVDTF decals are water‑resistant and very durable, but for best results we recommend handwashing to keep your design looking perfect for as long as possible.
Can UVDTF be removed? Yes — it can be peeled off with some effort. It’s strong, but not permanent like sublimation.
Can I request a custom UVDTF design? Absolutely. We create original, personalised designs that can be printed as UVDTF decals or full wraps, ready to apply to your chosen product.
Is UVDTF the same as vinyl? No. UVDTF is thicker, glossier, more detailed, and far more durable than standard vinyl. It also doesn’t require layering, weeding, or heat — making it a cleaner, more professional finish.
❓ FAQ: How Does DTF (Direct to Film) Work?
What is DTF printing? DTF (Direct to Film) is a printing method where designs are printed onto a special film, coated with adhesive powder, heat‑cured, and then pressed onto fabric. It creates a soft, flexible, long‑lasting print that works beautifully on a wide range of materials.
How is DTF applied? The printed film is placed onto the garment and heat‑pressed. Once cooled, the film is peeled away, leaving the design bonded to the fabric.
What fabrics can DTF be used on? DTF is extremely versatile and works on:
Cotton, Polyester, Blends, Fleece, Canvas, Most light and dark fabrics
This makes it ideal for T‑shirts, hoodies, tote bags, pouches, and more.
Is the print durable? Yes — DTF prints are strong, flexible, and resistant to cracking. With proper care, they stay vibrant and smooth for a long time.
What does a DTF print feel like? DTF has a soft, slightly raised feel — smoother than vinyl and more flexible than screen print. It moves naturally with the fabric.
Can DTF handle full‑colour designs? Absolutely. DTF is perfect for detailed artwork, gradients, photos, and colourful designs. It prints both bright colours and crisp whites, making it great for dark garments too.
How should I care for DTF‑printed items? For best results:
Wash inside out. Use a cool or 30°C wash. Avoid harsh detergents. Do not tumble dry on high heat. Do not iron directly on the design.
Following these steps keeps your print looking fresh and vibrant.
Can I request a custom DTF design? Yes — we specialise in personalised, original artwork that can be printed as DTF transfers for clothing, bags, and accessories.
❓ FAQ: Why Can’t You Accept Returns Unless an Item Is Faulty?
Do you accept returns? We accept returns only if an item arrives faulty or damaged. If this happens, we’ll put it right quickly and with care.
Why can’t personalised items be returned? Most of our products are made to order, personalised, or custom‑designed just for you. Because these items can’t be resold, they are exempt from change‑of‑mind returns under UK consumer law.
What about non‑personalised items? Even our ready‑to‑go items are handmade in small batches. Once they leave the studio, they’re created specifically for your order, so we’re unable to accept returns unless the item is faulty.
What if I made a mistake when ordering? If you spot an error (name spelling, colour choice, etc.), please contact us as soon as possible. If production hasn’t started, we’ll do our best to update it. Once an item has been made, we can’t remake or refund it unless it’s faulty.
What if my item arrives damaged or incorrect? If something isn’t right, we’ll fix it. Just send us a photo within 48 hours and we’ll arrange a replacement or solution straight away.
Is this policy common? Yes — it’s standard for small businesses that create personalised or made‑to‑order items. It helps keep prices fair and ensures every customer receives a brand‑new, freshly made product.
